FINARTE Story
Our second generation family business was born in 1985 from the meeting of a textile artist and a businessman. We work with designers and Indian artisans to create beautiful and unique textiles that combine traditional and contemporary inspired aesthetics.
A tale of creativity, tradition and global spirit
Our story began 50 years ago when my grandmother gifted my mother with a loom. My mother had a strong desire to create something new with textiles and at the age of 25 she started her life as an entrepreneur and artist. Eija's unique collection of brand new designer rugs with thoughtful colors quickly attracted attention and rugs were ordered in many countries including the United States. 50 years later, my mother is known for her significant contribution to the Finnish art industry after transforming rug mats into home design products.

Our family business was born out of two people's love for handcrafted, well-designed rugs. More than 30 years later, our vision remains the same: we collaborate with designers and Indian artisans to create beautiful and unique textiles that are durable in terms of materials, quality and design. As has been the case since the 1980s, all our products are hand-woven using only natural and recycled materials.
